Alabama Tries To Close Out Auburn During Senior Night
ByThe last time Alabama faced Auburn in Tuscaloosa, it was a last second JaMychal Green shoot that won the Tide the ball game. How ironic that on senior night that Green will be the only senior honored tonight.
According to Bama head coach Anthony Grant, Green most likely will start tonight. It was the Auburn game where the Tide first played without Tony Mitchell.
Since Mitchell's departure, the Tide has literally been on a roll having won three straight and in solid position to make the NCAA Tournament. Offensively, Grant has seen the emergence of freshman Rodney Cooper, Levi Randolph and Trevor Lacey who have helped picked up the slack since Mitchell has been gone.
Auburn is still well Auburn. They had a big lead against Arkansas at home Saturday and blew the lead in the second half and lost the game.
That's what pretty much had happened in the first game of the season against these two. Auburn had a lead to start the game and then by halftime they were down and never recovered.
But don't be fooled. There are times when the Tigers have come out and played as if they had something on the line and it shouldn't shock anyone if they came into this game tonight playing their hardest especially after their head coach Tony Barbee put them on blast for basically playing without much effort.
If the Tide can continue to play like they have been playing in the last three games, they should have no problem with the Tigers tonight, but don't be surprise if at least in the first half, if the Tigers give Bama a run for their money.
Tip-off of tonight's game will be 7pm on the SEC Network, check your local listings.
