Bama Baseball Sweeps Arkansas-Pine Bluff
ByAfter being swept last week in their season opening series, the Crimson Tide bounced back by sweeping Arkansas-Pine Bluff.
Two of the Tide's three victories, were shut outs. The Tide open the series against the Golden Lions with a 7-0 victory Friday night, followed by a 14-0 victory Saturday night and ending the series with a 9-3 victory Sunday.
Freshman left-hander Justin Kamplain (1-1) captured his first victory of his Crimson Tide career Sunday afternoon pitching five innings, allowing just one run on three hits while striking out a career-high six batters.
Offensively, the Tide's bats was led by junior infielder Brett Booth and senior first baseman Jon Kelton who each went 1-for-3 with two RBI's, respectively. Junior second baseman Kenny Roberts was 2-for-4 with two runs scored and two stolen bases.
After being stumped by Florida Atlantic last week, the Tide seemly got back on track with their hitting and pitching.
We'll see if this trend continues when the Tide host South Alabama Tuesday night; first pitch is 6:05 pm.
