The Idiot Who Poisoned Toomer’s Tree Has Been Caught!

The Alabama & Auburn nations together should be proud to hear that the perpetrator of the poisoning of Toomer's Corner trees has been arrested in the case today. His name is Harvey Almorn Updyke, 62, from Dadeville, AL. Mr. Updike has been charged with criminal mischief. Mr. Updyke is being held on $50,000 bond. Work is being done now to bury activated charcoal in trenches to absorb the poison, but most likely the trees will die.
Below is a video of the work being done to save Toomer's trees, a famous landmark.

So glad this nut case has been caught. I hope the University bans him from campus and all future events. I am embarassed that he associated himself with U of A but it appears he is just a bully who wanted his 5 minutes of fame. Hope he gets 5 years in the slammer. I would think that a former State Trooper will not a popular inmate. If he truly is a football fan he will have the opportunity to learn more than he may want to know about tight ends while there.
