Alabama basketball coach Anthony Grant received a raise and a contract extension last Thursday.

Grant’s contract now extends to 2019 and he gets a $100,000 raise.

Also in Grant’s contract, the last four years of his deal, his buyout is just $500,000.

Coach Grant has done a lot since stepping on the UA campus. He won the Western Division in his second year and took his team to the finals of the NIT.

Last year, he took the Tide to the NCAA for first time since 2006 under former Bama head coach Mark Gottfried.

Grant has also brought in some of the top recruits not only in the state of Alabama, but in the country.

Not bad for a guy who some questioned if he could get the job done after his first year in Tuscaloosa.
