I know we are just getting started with the football season, but basketball season is just around the corner and FINALLY we as Alabama fans have something to be excited about other then football.

After an exciting end to the 2010 season which included an SEC West Title, Coach Anthony Grant and his 2011 squad have high expectations and lofty goals.
The Tide returns several starters from last year’s 25 win team including senior forward JaMychal Green, junior forward Tony Mitchell and sophomore point guard Trevor Releford. Green received high praise this summer while playing for Team USA.

The Tide will also be welcoming highly touted freshman point guard Trevor Lacey who will be at the point along with Releford and junior Ben Eblen.
Lacey leads a freshman class that is seen by many as one of the best classes in the country. When was the last time anyone said that about an Alabama basketball team? Even Dicki V is excited about this team.

The season tips off November 2 with an exhibition game against Talladega College.
