Alabama DE LaMichael Fanning Suspended
ByWednesday, Nick Saban confirmed that Alabama defensive end LaMichael Fanning is indefinitely suspended. Fanning hasn't been seen at practice this week, nor did he dress for the Arkansas game.
“LaMichael Fanning has been suspended from the team indefinitely for a violation of team rules or whatever, so he’s just not around,” Saban said.
Sophomore LaMichael Fanning is currently is a third string player on the defensive line behind A’Shawn Robinson & Ed Stinson. Fanning's name cropped up in preseason as a potential tight end on offense, but was moved back to defense in the fall.
Last year, Fanning was infamous for his suplex-style tackle on a Missouri running back. He later apologized about the incident. Below is a video of that play:

Fanning saw sparse playing time in four games this season and came away with three tackles. He experimented a bit at the tight end position during preseason camp before ultimately moving back to defensive end midway through August.
He was listed as a third-string defensive end behind Ed Stinson and A'Shawn Robinson.
