Coach Nick Saban Nominated For Paul “Bear” Bryant Coach of the Year
ByAlabama head coach, Nick Saban, has been nominated for Paul "Bear" Bryant Coach of the Year Award. This is the second consecutive year that he has been nominated for the prestigious award named after the famous former coach of the Tide.
Joining the list are six other nominees:
- Texas coach Mack Brown
- Oregon coach Chip Kelly
- Stanford coach Jim Harbaugh
- Houston coach Kevin Sumlin
- Georgia Tech coach Paul Johnson
- Boise State coach Chris Peterson
Coach Mack Brown and Coach Nick Saban are previous winners of the award given to the top coach in America. Brown took the award after winning the national championship in 2005 & Saban won it at LSU after sharing in the 2003 national championship there.
The American Heart Association will present the award to the winner.
Lets hope that a win on January 7th, 2010 will propel Saban to his second Paul "Bear" Bryant Coach of the Year award. It will finally come home to momma! Roll Tide!
