Tide Coaches Pay Quarterback Winston a Visit
By
Now that Doug Nuessmeier has been named the Tide’s new offensive coordinator, his first order of business is to to try to get Hueytown quarterback Jameis Winston to switch his commitment back to the Tide.
There are rumors that Winston is starting to waver in his commitment to Florida State which was echoed by his high school coach in an ESPN article.
“I don’t ask Jameis much about what’s going on but I did the other day,” said Matt Scott, Hueytown’s coach. “I don’t think he’s feeling it 100 percent with either team. He’s says he’s committed to Florida State, but I also know he’s strongly considering Alabama.”
Tide coaches were reportedly at Winston’s baseball tryouts recently and are trying to make a final push to get Winston to change his commitment. It doesn’t hurt that the Tide’s new OC was able to show what he could do with an offense when the Washington Huskies played the Baylor Bears in the Alamo bowl.
Although the Huskies lost, their quarterback put up big time numbers and the type of offense Winston may be running if he came to Bama.
It doesn’t hurt either that the Tide is coming off of it’s 14th national championship which I’m sure the Tide coaches are reminding him of.
It’ll be interesting to see if any of this will make a difference to Winston, I got a feeling it will.
