Mission Accomplished: Alabama 21 LSU 0
By
Last night, the Crimson Tide got its revenge and redeemption in defeating the LSU Tigers 21-0. Anyone who watched the game knows that this game was actually worse then the score would indicate.
From the beginning to the end, the Tide dominated LSU first on the defensive front where the Tide defense held the LSU offense and quarterback Jordan Jefferson to 92 total yards; Trent Richardson alone had 96 yards and a touchdown. The LSU offense also didn't cross the 50-yard line until the end of the game.
The Tide offense was also dominate. Although the Tide offense only had 21 points, they moved the ball effectively against that LSU defense with quarterback AJ McCarron who was 24-34 for 234 yards. The running game did its job as well; both Eddie Lacy and Trent Richardson at times gashed the LSU defense and kept drives alive.
And to top off the game was special teams. Marquis Maze got things started by running a kick back almost taking to the house before his injury which got the scoring started for the Tide. One of the most impressive performances was by Tide kicker Jeremy Shelley who made 5-7 field goals two of those field goals were over 40 yards.
So, basically as Coach Saban said after the game, this was a total team effort which is just the way Saban likes it.
