Alabama Kicks Some “Dolphin Tail” In Men’s Basketball
By
No JaMychal Green for the Tide, no problem as the Alabama (10-3) defeated the Jacksonville Dolphins (2-10) 72-55.
Once again, the Tide was lead by Trevor Releford who had 18 points while Tony Mitchell added 17 points. Trevor Lacy also had 11 points.
Bama continued it hot shooting from the three-point line as they were 6 of 11 in the first half and 6-15 overall.
“Last game I hit one and it gave me a little bit of confidence that I needed,” said Releford who was 2-3 from the three-point line.
Besides the victory, the biggest news of the night came when Coach Anthony Grant decided to play seven-foot junior college transfer Moussa Gueye.
Gueye who had injured himself earlier this year, played at the end of the game. Grant decided to play Gueye because of how he had progress in practice.
“I wouldn't have put him out there if I felt like there was any jeopardy,” Grant said. “Our medical staff wouldn't have cleared him if we felt like there was any chance of him putting himself in harm's way.”
The Tide’s next game will be January 3rd against Georgia Tech in Atlanta.
