VIDEO: Alabama Needs to Get This Kicker! 57 Yard Kick
By
Looking back to the LSU game, admittedly our biggest flaw was the kicking game. Missing 4 field goals and inspiring no confidence whatsoever in kicking kicks longer than 40 yards, Shelley and Foster are pretty average kickers (if not sub-average). The kick-offs don't seem to get to end-zone, field-goals are short or wide or even blocked (kicking too low), so the fact is that Alabama needs to get a great kicker on the recruiting trail that is naturally gifted.
I think I have found the kid. This kid boomed a 57 yard field goal (with the wind) recently with plenty to spare. IF he is not on Saban's recruiting radar, he might want to take a second look. He is Ben Ogle from Greeneville high school in Greeneville TN. He is 2-time all-state in a state filled with good kickers at the high school level.
He kicks off and every one is in the end zone - this kid should not be overlooked. He has bloodlines to Tennessee, his dad is former Vol kicker Alan Duncan, but maybe there is a chance he might choose to head south from TN down to Tuscaloosa.
Just a thought anyway, but this kick was out of this world. Would have went 59.
