Five Tide Players Named All-Americans

Running back Trent Richardson leads a group of Crimson Tide players who were named to the American Football Coaches Association’s All-American Team.
Joining Richardson are offensive lineman Barrett Jones, linebacker Dont’a Hightower, and defensive backs Mark Barron and DeQuan Menzie.
The AFCA have been selecting its All-American teams since 1945. Alabama's 5 selections in 2011 are the 2nd most in the history of the AFCA All-America team. Only Oklahoma's 2003 team had more, with 6.
The Tide had the most players on the team, followed by Oklahoma State. LSU had only one player selected.
