The 1981 Iron Bowl was special for several reasons; one it was Bryant’s last victory against Auburn (he would lose his last Iron Bowl a year later) and it’s special because Coach Bryant became the all-time winningest coach passing Amos Alonzo Stagg.

The game also marked Pat Dye’s first year as the Auburn head coach spoiling his debut 28-17,
