Tide Slaps a Muzzle on the Bulldogs
By
It wasn't pretty but who said it had to be. After coming off a lost to No. 1 LSU last week, Alabama would bounce back to beat Mississippi State 24-7.
The game was close throughout the first half, but in the second half the Tide would pull away.
Lead by the running of Trent Richardson (32 carries 127 yards 1 touchdown) and Eddie Lacy (96 yards 2 touchdowns) the Tide held off the Bulldogs.
The defense also did its job by holding State to 131 total yards with only 12 yards rushing. The defense also had five sacks;1 1/2 those belonged to Dont’a Hightower who also had 11 tackles.
Head coach Nick Saban was pleased with how his team performed Saturday night.
"I'm really pleased and proud of how our players responded in this game."
What really pleased Saban and his players even more was the fact both undefeated Boise State and Stanford lost last night would should help the Tide in it's pursuit of a rematch with LSU.
But first the Tide needs to take care of Georgia Southern next Saturday and Auburn the following week,.
