Tide Hopes to Get Off To Better Start this Season
By
After being left out of the NCAA Tournament for the fourth year in a row, Anthony Grant and his Crimson Tide team know it’s important that they get off to a better start this season.
Although the Tide would finish first in the SEC West with a 12-4 record, their non-conference record killed the Tide’s chances of getting into the NCAA Tournament; that starts tonight with North Florida.
UNF returns all but one starter from last year’s 15-19 team. The Tide returns Pre-All-SEC players JaMychal Green, Tony Mitchell and Trevor Releford.
Green understands how important piling up non-conference victories will be important for the Tide.
“We just want to get some non-conference wins under our belt so when it comes down to the decision for the NCAA tournament, we have some good wins,”said Green.
The Tide will get a chance to build their resume’ against the likes of Georgetown, Grant’s former team VCU, Oklahoma State, Georgia Tech and Kansas State.
The Tide will also be playing in the Puerto Rico Tip-Off Classic.
The road to the Final Four starts tonight against North Florida 7:00 at Coleman Coliseum.
