Bama-LSU Offenses by the Numbers
ByWe all know how close both Alabama and LSU are defensively in the nation, but how about the offenses you ask? Well, let’s take a look.
Alabama is ranked 11th in the country in scoring offense averaging 39.38 points per game, while LSU is 12th averaging 39.25 points per game.
How do they stack up running the football? Bama is 14th in the nation running football averaging 230 yards a game; LSU is 31st in the country averaging 189 yards a game.
We all think that maybe Trent Richardson might be the deciding factor in this game and he may be, but I think it’s going to be the play of the quarterbacks.
For all the talk of improvements by quarterback Jarrett Lee of LSU, the LSU passing attack is ranked 99th in the country. Lee is throwing for about 183 yards per game, while the Bama offense is ranked 63rd in the country. AJ McCarron has throw for almost 230 yards a game with 10 touchdown passes and five inceptions.
Now, if we are to believe the experts, Lee is suppose to be the better quarterback between the two when in fact, McCarron has put up better numbers at least per game then Lee or Jordan Jefferson for that matter. Pay attention to that folks Saturday night because in my opinion that is what is going to make the difference.
