McCarron to Start, Carter Out of Today’s Game
By
As most thought, AJ McCarron will get the start at quarterback today for the Tide. McCarron last week against Kent State threw for 226 yards, one touchdown, and two interceptions. To many observing the game, the offense seemed to move the ball more effectively under McCarron then back-up Phillip Sims. Nick Saban didn’t say that that Sims wouldn’t see a snap or two in today’s game.
One person who may not be starting today as once thought is wide receiver Duron Carter. Carter broke the news on Twitter this morning that he wouldn’t be starting because of “complications.”
At this point, no one knows what that means, but I guess we’ll find out before kick-off why Carter won’t be playing today. Carter was just cleared by the NCAA to play over a week ago. We’ll keep you posted on his situation.
While it will be sunny and warm today here in Alabama, in State College PA, it’s cloudy with a 40 percent chance of rain with highs in the low 70s. The rain chances have decreased over night as the state still recovers from Tropical Storm Lee. We shall see if the weather has any impact on either team’s performance today
From the reports I’ve read, the field at Penn State seems to have held up well.
