Duron Carter’s Enrollment At Alabama Is Delayed
By
Good news is this.. Duron Carter, Cris Carter's (who was a star in the NFL) son is still coming to Alabama. Only "catch" is that it will be later than expected. In an Andrew Bone tweet, he said this..
"I have just confirmed Juco WR Duron Carter will not enroll at Alabama until the second summer session (July)."
Apparently the problem lies in the administrative red tape of transferring to a new school. In June, he will be taking a course at Palm Beach Community College in order to make up for the lost credit.
Carter should be ready to come to Alabama for the second summer session that starts in late July. The only problem is that he will miss the 4th quarter & strength training regime that the Alabama coaches assign to the players each summer.
Another concern is the fact that he will have less time to practice summer pass skeletons with the quarterbacks prior to fall practice, this will put him behind a bit in terms of development. One month may not seem like a big deal, but it really will make it harder for him to break into the opening day lineup.
We really need a big receiver like Carter to help fill the void left by the departure of Julio Jones. I just hope he comes to fall camp in shape and ready to learn, but this turn of events will put a real dent in Carter seeing any meaningful playing time early in the season in big games like Penn State & Arkansas. Maybe I am wrong and he comes in like an All-American & dominates from the get-go.... but my guess is that he will have some adjusting to do to fit into Alabama's offense.
Before you leave, check out the video below of Duron's juke compared to his father who was all-pro. Its uncanny!
