Joe Paterno Says Lions Will Be “Outmanned” in Tuscaloosa
By
Joe Paterno did not get where he is today without a few motivational tricks in his bag. To the media, he is painting his team as the underdog. David verses Goliath..but he is leaving room for hope for his ball club.
He said that this Alabama team is as good as the Miami team in 1987. However, if you remember the game, Penn State beat Miami 14-10 to win the national championship that year. Ouch! Joe is sly like a fox, and he is busy trying to set the table for a surprise upset.
Joe Paterno is respected by Alabama fans because of the deep connections to the era of Bear Bryant & the epic battles of the 1980s. JoePa knows this rivalry better than anyone else in the world. He has coached in every game against the Tide since its first one in the 1959 Liberty Bowl. Overall, his record is 4-8 against Alabama with 4 of the losses coming at the hands of Bear Bryant.
Speaking to the media, Joe Pa said "I think the Alabama-Penn State game is a good game for us," Paterno said Tuesday, "even though I feel like we were outmanned [this year]."
The next victory for Joe Paterno will be his 500th overall counting his years as assistant and 396th as head coach. Let's make sure we prove him right when he said Alabama had them "outmanned".
Joe Pa will just have to wait another game before he can notch another win, because Alabama will prevail.
